Essential oils
l was introduced to essential oils in 2014 after traveling through Central America. I support using natural forms of medicine and question the use of many chemicals sold by Big Pharma and the accompanying exorbitant price tag. I have learned the significance of regularly using the essential oils and how they can assist in healing. Essential oils are part of my first aid kit and are the first thing I apply when I am feeling hurt emotionally, mentally and physically.
yoga
I initially started yoga when I was in college in 2008. After completing a 200 hour Tantra Yoga Teacher Training course in India in November 2015, it's become a much more important part of my life. This training opened my eyes to what yoga really entails and changed the way I view the world. This fall (November 2018) I have completed my second 200 hour teacher training in Vinyasa yoga. From these trainings I have developed a daily yoga and meditation practice for an increase in mindfulness.
Travel
Since graduating from college in 2013 I have been working seasonally and traveling in between. Immediately after graduation I spent two and a half months biking across the US with a non-profit called Bike and Build, raising money and awareness for affordable housing. I spent four months traveling through Central America and sixteen months traveling in India, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, New Zealand and Australia.
